Zanzibar – A Tanzanian Island Paradise

A Tanzanian island paradise, Zanzibar is made up of two islands, Unguja and Zanzibar. Stone Town, a historic trading center with Islamic and Swahili influences, is a must-see attraction. Its winding lanes are adorned with carved doorways and minarets, and the former sultan’s palace, called the House of Wonders, is also worth a visit. The northern villages are dotted with wide beaches surrounded by hotels.

Stone Town

Stone Town is a maze of streets that has been inhabited by the Omani Arabs since they expelled the Portuguese. A 17th century stone fortress, known as the Old Fort, is one of the oldest buildings in Zanzibar. It is one of the most popular attractions for tourists in Zanzibar. Located on Kenyatta Road, it is a popular spot for weddings and special events.

Nungwi

Nungwi, Zanzibar, is a charming town in the tropical island of Unguja, Tanzania. It’s renowned for its palm-lined Nungwi Beach, and for the boat-building yard nearby. A short distance away, you’ll find a marine turtle conservation pond and hawksbill and green sea turtles, as well as coral reefs such as Hunga and Leven Bank.

Kendwa

If you’re looking for a quiet, uncrowded beach in Zanzibar, then Kendwa, Zanzibar, might be the perfect destination. The white sand, calm waves, and hills behind the beach make this destination a hidden gem. The pristine waters and shady hills also make this beach a great place to enjoy a sunset. Book your tour in advance to avoid disappointment. You’ll be guaranteed a private beach tour. The tour is private and only your group will take part. Ensure you have enough money for food and drinks and pay attention to temperature, as well as contactless payment.

Jozani Forest Reserve

The national park of Tanzania, Jozani Chwaka Bay, is the only park on the island of Zanzibar. This 50-kilometer park is located on the island of Zanzibar. It is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants and lions. If you love wildlife, you should visit this park! However, if you’re short on time, you can spend the night in a hotel in the area.

Scuba diving

If you are into wreck diving and love to explore the world under water, then scuba diving in Zanzibar is for you. The island is home to two dive sites. One is the Pinnacle, with its pelagic fish, while the other is the Dindini, with its archways and caverns full of tropical fish. You can even see reef sharks here. Depending on the dive site, you might be able to spot a humpback whale underwater.

Scuba diving in Zanzibar

Scuba diving in Zanzibar is a great experience for beginners or experienced divers alike. This tropical island has a wide variety of sites, from easy beginner diving to exhilarating wall dives and wrecks. There is a site to suit every level and taste. One Ocean Diving Zanzibar has offices in Stone Town, Pwani Mchingani, Matemwe, and Kiwengwa, and a wide selection of accommodation options.

Accommodation options

While a small selection of hotels offer luxury amenities, the majority of Zanzibar accommodations offer less than luxurious experiences. Some hotels offer only basic amenities, such as toilet paper and towels, and others offer upscale accommodations with spa services and private rooms. If you’re on a budget, Zanzibar’s backpacker scene is worth a visit. Hostels are particularly unique, and many offer everything from aromatherapy massages to traditional Swahili meals.
